BLOG 1: The Blue Note Community

One of the communities I am proud to belong to in Columbia is The Blue Note Community. This summer I was fortunate enough to nab an internship at The Blue Note and will be continuing this internship throughout this fall semester as well.

For those of you not familiar with The Blue Note, it is a music venue in downtown Columbia that hosts concerts, parties, weddings and just about any event you can think of.

I work directly with Millie Rambis, the Special Events Coordinator at The Blue Note and we are almost constantly in communication. She updates me with events going on via email, text & phone calls. The emails normally consist of my weekly schedule as well as what events I will be helping set up, working and taking down. For the most part I am aware of events before they happen but I also like to stay updated on upcoming shows by looking at the wesbite http://www.thebluenote.com/ Another way I stay in touch with The Blue Note is via facebook http://www.facebook.com/thebluenote and twitter @the_blue_note.

There are so many people involved in making these events run smoothly so communicating frequently and accurately is very important.

Good first post. Do you belong to this community both as an employee and as someone who goes to shows? Do you need different information sources for both of these roles?

When you add links in your post, make them dynamic. So add the URLs to them so that the reader can click on them and be taken to the web page you are referencing. Good job otherwise.
