Blog 1: Disaster Preparedeness

Recently, America has been affected by many natural disasters including earthquakes and current hurricane Irene on the east coast. Ready is a beneficial website that provides helpful information for people affected by disasters such as these. This site educates citizens to prepare, plan and stay informed. What I enjoyed most about this site is emergency crews have provided a check list of what supplies are needed to make an emergency kit. These items include, but are not limited to water, non-perishable food, flashlights, cell phones and solar powered chargers. Information is also provided for how to care for pets, older citizens, and people with disabilities. FEMA has also contributed advice pertaining to state and local communities to ensure that as a nation everyone is ready for a natural disaster.

Ready.gov is the main preparedness website of the U.S. federal government, so it was a good one to pick.

Be sure to add tags to your posts. You have the categories listed, which are good, but you need the posts also.

And with future posts consider breaking up your text with paragraph breaks so it is not a single block of text, and think about adding images, as appropriate, to dress up your posts.
