Blog #1: Defense Budgets

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

  • This article visualizes the United States defense budget compared to the next six highest spending nations. I thought it was concerning to see the exorbitant amount of defense spending we are still doing with all of our international responsibilities.
  • The data was compiled by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The SIPRI studies developments and trends in world military expenditure.
  • Does the figure include classified projects that the country’s citizens are unaware of? What about U.S. backed training of armies in the Middle East to combat ISIS or the money it puts into other organizations such as NATO?

    Good. But for every assignment add the appropriate blog category (e.g., Blog #1). This will help me track assignments later on. Thanks.
