BLOG 7: Mental Health Awareness Week Infographic on Depression

  1. This infographic is about the prevalence of the mental illness of depression. It discusses where it is most common, symptoms and more. I chose this infographic because it was simple to understand the information and I think of depression as one of the most common mental illnesses among people my age and it interested me to see facts about it.
  2. This infographic was constructed by Summa Health. People were tallied upon having experienced depression and upon how quickly they began to feel better and turned into percentages. The study also then explores depression’s relationship to other chronic illnesses such as cancer, heart attacks, etc. identifying which specific illnesses have a high percentage connection.
  3. This infographic doesn’t go into detail about who the research is conducted on. I wonder what age group was used and if they were asked in a survey or in person, etc. Because those differences could greatly impact the results.
