Blog #6 – Empathy and Self-Awareness

  1. MU researchers found that people who are not self-aware are less likely to feel empathy towards other individuals.
  2. To find this data, researchers at the university interviewed 31 individuals with traumatic brain injury about empathy. They also gave 20 of the participants MRI scans and also looked back at already established research.
  3. What does this research mean for brain trauma therapy? How does it affect those that are dealing with loved ones with brain trauma? What makes it relevant?
